Finding Inspiration
Welcome to Bella Vue at Pepin Heights! I’ve spent decades traveling the world, living and working in exotic countries from Latvia to Mongolia, and Croatia to Ethiopia. I was inspired and in love with the idea of finding a hidden gem off the beaten path, whose natural beauty was undeniable.
And that’s how after years of searching, Bella Vue at Pepin Heights found me. How ironic, finding the most beautiful sanctuary nestled on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River.
It's All About the Journey
Bella Vue at Pepin Heights started as a weekend getaway for us and our honeybees. Situated in both the Flyway Zone of the Mississippi and the Driftless Region of Minnesota, it took only months to realize that we were on a private nature reserve and pollinator sanctuary.
So we’re rolling up our sleeves and showcasing Bella Vue’s natural beauty. It takes a village, and we're working with wonderful conservation partners and understanding neighbors. The path will take years, but the journey is part of the fun.
Woodland Management
We’re managing the variety, maturity and canopy density of over 25 acres of woodlands to encourage greater wildlife diversity.
Native Prairie
Five acres of fallowed brome pasture are being restored into native prairie to attract birds and butterflies as they migrate along the Mississippi; and to provide a pollinator habitat for wild bees, honey bees and key, local invertebrates.
